A Tea Party for Hayley

Last Saturday we celebrated Hayley's 5th birthday by having a tea party with a few of her friends. There's a local tea room in town called Attic Secrets that we frequent, so we decided to have her party there this year. Hayley loves to go there and wear a flowery hat and enjoy turkey tea sandwiches, caramel tea and cookies. It always fun to go there and spend that time together.

So, for her party we made flowery hats, bought pearl Mardi Gras beads, bracelets, rings and purple feather boas. All of her friends came in party dresses ready for their tea party. Hayley had a wonderful time with all her little girl friends and was very thankful for all the gifts she received. She even received her first Barbie doll! She never showed much of an interest in Barbies, so I never bought her any. Well, that will end because she loves them now. It was really fun to watch all the girls enjoying their tea and lunch.

Hayley told me that it was the "best party ever!"

Hard to believe that it's been five years since Hayley came into my life, but I said it then and still say it now. She's one of the best things I've ever done in my life. Happy Birthday baby!

Ink

So, I've been wanting to get a new tattoo for sometime and I wanted to do something with an H and an R for the girls. My sister, Dana, also wanted to get one, so we decided to go and shop around. Dana had heard good things about the Anvil Tattoo shop here in town and we went there. I was instantly impressed with the shop, super clean and really nice, informative artists. I began talking with Moon about what I wanted. I basically wanted the girls first initials and to somehow incorporate a ladybug into it. I also wanted to be able to add to it in the future. I call both my girls "bug" and both girls had ladybugs in their nurseries. Moon said he would draw a few things up and I would see him next week. So, we went yesterday and I looked at his page of sketches and one struck my immediately. Just a simple "h.r." with red coloring and black spots for a ladybug in the letters. It was also something simple to add on to one day. So, that was my pick and a couple hours later I had fresh ink. I love my new tattoo, it's exactly what I wanted to honor two of the most important people in my life. My girls, my loves, my heart, my soul, my bugs.
